How It Works

Detect

MutationObserver watches YouTube's DOM for ad elements like .ad-showing and skip buttons.

Skip

If a skip button exists, it's clicked instantly. If unskippable, the video is seeked to its end.

Accelerate

Unskippable ads are muted and set to 16x speed as a backup, ensuring they finish in seconds.

Restore

Once the ad ends, volume and playback speed are restored to your original settings automatically.

Installation Guide

📋 Step-by-Step Setup (2 minutes)

  1. Download the ZIP file using the download button above.
  2. Extract the ZIP — right-click and select "Extract Here" (WinRAR, 7-Zip, or built-in extractor).
  3. Open Chrome and go to chrome://extensions/
  4. Enable Developer Mode — toggle switch in the top-right corner.
  5. Click "Load unpacked" — top-left button.
  6. Select the extracted yt-ad-skipper folder (the one containing manifest.json).
  7. Pin to toolbar — click the puzzle icon 🧩 in Chrome's toolbar and pin the extension.
  8. Open YouTube and play any video — ads will be auto-skipped! 🎉
